Recovery is a collection of paintings inspired by positive events and realizations that happened as a result of the pandemic. Each piece recognizes a defining moment that took place in our lives; a moment of realization and appreciation.

We found ourselves longing for human connection. Growing anxiety and shared challenges could be managed by connecting meaningfully with others. Technology that is meant to link us, often separated us before the pandemic. Yet during the pandemic, it preserved bridges and even nurtured or re-kindled others. We were able to reach out to lost friends and loved ones and fulfill the comfort of a community. I was able to watch my brother’s wedding and attend my father’s funeral while separated from them on the other side of the world.

The work has been finished with a satin varnish, protecting the artwork from dust and UV light. The artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity and is signed on the back of the canvas. Colours and textures may vary slightly depending on the device on which the images are viewed.
